After a 25-year weaving and business relationship with her sister, Annie Fischer took a 2-year hiatus from the art. A meditative retreat crystallized the decision to return as Shuttle Creek in 2007. Her partner in life and business is Tom Smith who brings inspiration, encouragement and amazing people skills to the mix.
Currently, Annie and Tom are selling their Shuttle Creek creations at Renaissance Faires and other festivals up and down the west coast. To see where they'll be next, please click on the "Current Show List" tab.
Annie has been growing creatively as she expands into new weaving techniques and designs. For you technical types, check out the all-over rosepath twill on all the pink garments.
Something else new - Annie is saying, "Yes" to requests from customers. This has resulted in some new styles and colors, for example the one-of-a-kind woolen hoodies that she actually weaves during demonstrations. She never knows what color will come rolling off the loom and how she'll combine the cloth to create unique garments.
Annie is excited about the unlimited choice of color and has been trying new combinations. Some of these will return to become regular favorites like the black to grey "Smokey Mountains" motif that was sold as fast as it could be woven.
As a business driven by creative inspiration, we at Shuttle Creek are able to change direction at a moment's notice. We hope you will enjoy accompanying us on our adventures in weaving.
